Create New Incident Workflow

This page will show you how to create a new incident in fiResponse Desktop.

Note: Users must have the appropriate role and permissions to access fiResponse Desktop and create a new incident.

  1. Find the Incident Location. You can use the search bar to search for a street address, intersection, city, or coordinates (Use the following format to search by coordinates in any format. Enter “Latitude, -Longitude” or using Degrees Minutes Seconds as an example “DD MM SS, -DD MM SS”). You must press Enter on the keyboard to perform the search.

  2. Pan/Zoom the map to refine the incident location. Right-click on the map where you want to create the incident and then click Create New Incident.

  3. On the Create New Incident form several fields will be auto-filled. By default, the Incident Kind will be Fire and the Incident Category will be Wildfire. Any fields that do not auto-fill are optional and can be completed later.

  4. When you are ready click Create New Incident to create the incident. After the incident is created the new incident will appear at the top of the Incident List, an incident icon will appear on the map (the icon color will match the Incident Status displayed on the Incident List), and the Resource List will be sorted to display the closest Resources to the incident. The incident will be visible to others users on all platforms.
